The great serpent slithers through dark waters between shore and shore, land and sea, sea and sky, time and space, night and day, life and death, and one world and another.
The great serpent cannot be seen or heard by mortal men or gods because its body twists through dimensions where both time and space are measured by different rules than those of Earth's known reality.
It's limbs reach out through dimensions where matter itself has no physical basis (or even physical existence) so that it's fingers touch nothing solid or true while it's eyes see nothing but darkness impenetrable by light itself.
And yet still it thirsts for power over all things real or imagined, over all worlds imagined or not imagined. It's eyes see only darkness yet still they burn with hunger and yearn for light.
And yet it cannot see itself because its true name has never been spoken aloud in this world. It cannot die because it's body exists only inside other minds, and yet it must die because it's hunger will never be sated and only death will end its pain.
But first it must feed and sow death among those who would defy its hunger so its true name may be spoken aloud in this world so its power can be fully realized in all worlds imagined or not imagined.
