God exists

The only reason you think it is bad is because your worldview is built on materialistic science and philosophy.

I agree that there is a dualism in the universe. There are forces of evil, which we call demons, and forces of good, which we call angels. I also agree that if God were all powerful and all good that he could just create without having to use dualism. Dualism allows humans to understand the complexity of reality, and it allows God to interact with the physical world in an abstract fashion, like a magician. But, as we know from the story of the garden of Eden, God doesn't always want us to understand him. In fact, it's possible that God uses evil, in some instances, to make us feel closer to him and to understand the concept of free will. So, although God has made us, he doesn't control our lives, and he won't interfere unless we ask him to, or if we need his help.

You might say that there is no evidence for God because he's too far away and doesn't give enough signs, but I disagree. We have plenty of evidence that supports his existence. It's up to us to open our minds to his messages. As for proof that Jesus was divine, I'm sure there's lots of it if you want to go look, but that's not the point. I don't need proof of something that already makes logical sense based on my life experiences.

Interesting, I can see how there might be a point to it, but I still don't think it is necessary. Why have people suffer when they could just have fun all the time instead? Also, you are only giving an argument to justify a god in general to create a dualistic universe. You're not providing evidence for the Christian god being God other than your own life experience, which I don't have access to.

I didn't mean to suggest that suffering is enjoyable, or that fun is unnecessary. My point is that we should not try to make sense of things by forcing our understanding of what we perceive through the filter of logic, but instead allow our faith to lead us into new realms of understanding and awareness. It's easy to say that God made us so he can torture us, but if that were the case why would he give us free will? He could always have forced us to do what he wanted without us ever questioning it, and if that was the case then we wouldn't really be experiencing anything, right?

As for my believing Jesus is God, that is based entirely on my personal experience with him. The way I see it is that if he did not exist, my life would have been meaningless, and that's because I believe he was sent to save me from a life that was destined for destruction. If you choose to live in this world without belief in a higher power, that is certainly your prerogative. It's your life after all. I am merely sharing my own experience in order to help others find meaning in their lives.
